19 Jan 12: Mixed 4/2 vs Marshfield, Win! 7-2

Belinda's Mixed 4/2 team have triumphed against Marshfield, winning 7-2 away. With Bill and Steve as well as Mitt and Tim dropping points against their opposition's top pair, the ladies more than recovered the lost ground to claim victory. Thanks to Belinda (3-0), Debbie (3-0), Steve (2-1), Bill (2-1), Mitt (2-1) and Tim (2-1). Belinda's comments coming soon "". For previous results, visit the Mixed 4/2 section.

9 Dec 11: Mixed 4/2 vs White Horse B Win! 7-2

Belinda's Mixed 4/2 team were treated to an almost frosty venue at Christie Miller in Melksham but turned up the heat to come away with a stinking 7-2 victory. With injury and other niggles affecting the team, it was a great result and adds a useful 7 to their already impressive points haul. Thanks to Claire (3-0), Debbie (2-1), Grant (3-0), Frank (2-1), Alex (2-1) and Tim (2-1). Belinda said "Six very hardy members of Corsham turned out on a perishingly cold night to slaughter White Horse B. Claire's hands were icy after her first ladies match, Tim had injured his ankle and played with a bandage, and Grant said that next time he would bring his thermals. Despite all this Corsham won 7-2 with Frank and Debbie fighting to the last but were pipped at the post. A brilliant evenings play, fun was had by all, partly spurred on by a determination to win despite some very dubious 'out' calls by the opposition. Still, they had very good biscuits!"

27 Nov 11: Mixed 4/2 vs Calne, Defeat 3-6

Gallantly taking the reins, Belinda's 4/2 team were narrowly beaten by Calne 3-6 at home. Well done. Thanks to Belinda (1-2), Debbie (0-3), Pete (1-2), Mitt (1-2), John O (1-2) and Ade (2-1). Captain Belinda's comments coming soon "Thanks to all who turned out last night. A very valiant fight by Debbie and Pete at the last gasp. Even though we lost I think we all had such a good evenings play against a fairly cheerful side. We lost 3-6 but not for want of trying! I was especially touched that Clare, Steve and Dave turned out to help me and keep an eye on me. Thank you."

11 Nov 11: Mixed 4/2 vs White Horse, Defeat 1-8

Our 4/2 team were beaten by White Horse, Lindsey's team coming away with a single point losing 1-8 away. Well done to Pete and John O who managed to grab the only point avoiding a white-wash. It was a close and hard fought for point too, against White Horse's 2nd men's pair. Thanks to Lindsey (1-2), Debbie (0-3), Pete (1-2), John O (2-1), John H (0-3) and Ade (0-3). Captain Lindsey's comments coming soon "Well, we had some really close games. In addition to Pete and John O, Ade and John H too their men's matches to 3 and John O and I forced a 3rd game decider too. So, thanks to everybody - not a bad effort against their A team considering we were fielding doubles B and C team players. Well done team!"

30 Oct 11: Mixed 4/2 vs Bradford Penmoor, Defeat 2-7

Lindsey's team were prepared to start the season on the right foot, but Bradford Penmoor proved to be just a little stronger and employed mind-game tactics to defeat Corsham 2-7. Lindsey played well and she and Matt L battled to to win an end in their mixed match, losing the 1st end to 22 having had 4 match points - so close. Thanks to Lindsey (0-3), Debbie (0-3), Mitt (2-1), Pete (2-1), Matt L (0-3) and John H (0-3). Captain Lindsey said "Well folks, sadly we lost our 4/2 match against Bradford Penmoor but I have to say Debbie and I played like numpties in the first game against their ladies but luckily we did improve a little. Mitt and Pete did us proud by winning their mens and Matt L and John H did a stirling job considering they had never played together in a match before - and they managed to claim a few games. I think I can say we all enjoyed ourselves although we were a bit late finishing our last game. Thank you to everyone and I look forward to our next match." Mitt added "Pete and I did at least beat Vernon and partner to 5 in one of the games. Their ladies pairing were very strong, with Sarah and Josh's mum the main reason why no one won their mixed games either. But they used mind games, and I'd go as far as saying cheaters and I don't want to play against cheats. Matt L and John H took one of their matches to a 3rd but lost heavily."

13 Oct 11: Win! Forfeit Sunday, 16 Oct 11

Marshfield have forfeited their away match against our 4/2 team due to a lack of players. With strict new rules in place this season, the forfeit gives our team the win by default. So congratulations to Lindsey on her debut result as 4/2 Captain with a victory.
