15 Jan 12: KO Cup vs Bradford Penmoor, Defeat 329-366

A +25 advantage over their opponents, our KO Cup team were unceremoniously dumped out of the competition by Bradford Penmoor. With total points the objective rather than individual game wins, it was fairly evenly matched in the mens doubles. Our ladies pairing battled bravely, but Bradford Penmoor proved they have a strong ladies line up this year beating Debbie and Belinda to single digits in both games. With both Mitt and Steve still finding form in the New Year after recovering from injuries, the team took heart from keeping the score line close and pushing all the way. Thanks to Debbie, Belinda, Steve, Dave, Mitt and Pete. Mitt commented "Well Penmoor knocked out the holders. We only had +25 points on a Division 1 mixed team. It was good to beat some of their more established pairings."

Wilson Lee Trophy:

Corsham entered the Wilson Lee Trophy this year, captain is Steve Bird.

Round 1. 2 Oct 11 Freshford/St. Georges Home Level 1-17 Loss

2 Oct 11: Wilson Lee vs. Freshford/St. GeorgesDefeat, 1-17

Corsham entered the Wilson Lee Trophy in 2011 and were drawn against Freshford/St. Georges, losing 1-17. In a rare move, the Corsham club decided to enter the Wilson Lee Trophy this season and after beating them in the final of the KO-Cup last season, Freshford/St. Georges were out for revenge. Thanks to Steve, Dave, Mitt, Andi, Belinda, and Clare. Captain said "On a historically warm autumn evening we felt like the away team! Freshford/St. Georges got their revenge on us. We regularly got high scores but they had the experience to pip us to the games. In the end they proved to be just too strong. But I know we can improve our sharpness. We're ready for our other matches now!"
